Low heavy metals, on paper
SGS tested our cocoa mass and powder on the lots sampled for report GH26-36177 R0. Cadmium below 0.3 mg/kg, lead and arsenic below 0.1 mg/kg. Separately, a Certificate of Analysis and a phytosanitary certificate come with every batch. Your QA team signs off on evidence, not adjectives.

The certificate covers the products at the point of production. Shea butter is not on it.

The short answersWhat's the minimum wholesale order?
There is no minimum on a first order. Trade pricing applies from 25kg, which is one full box. For anything up to 20kg, our online shop offers instant checkout at standard retail pricing, and no quote is needed.
Do you test for heavy metals?
Yes. The report is available on request. Cocoa mass and natural cocoa powder are tested by SGS by ICP-OES following EPA 3050 digestion (report GH26-36177 R0). On the lots tested, cadmium came in below 0.3 mg/kg, and lead and arsenic below 0.1 mg/kg. Copper and zinc are reported as well. Our cocoa nibs sit behind both of those figures, because cocoa mass is those same nibs milled, from the same beans and the same lots, though the nibs were not run as a separate sample on that panel. Cadmium in cocoa comes from soil geology at the growing region rather than from processing, which is why origin matters. If your specification needs the nibs tested in their own right, or needs a lower reporting limit, tell us at quote stage and we will look at what is possible.
Is your cocoa Halaal certified?
Yes. Cocoa butter, cocoa mass, cocoa powder, cocoa cake and cocoa nibs carry Halaal certification from SANHA, the South African National Halaal Authority, issued at our partner facility in Tema, Ghana and valid to 30 November 2026. That certificate covers the products at the point of production and is not a certification of our own UK premises. Shea butter is not covered by it. If your certifying body needs to see the documentation, ask at quote stage.
Do you offer trade credit terms?
Trade terms are discussed at the quote stage based on order volume and order history. First orders are typically on a pro-forma basis; recurring trade accounts can discuss ongoing terms directly.

Are samples available first?
Yes. Email wholesale@cocoafoundry.co.uk with the products you'd like to evaluate and your delivery postcode, and we'll arrange a trade sample.
Where do orders ship from?
From our UK logistics hub in Chelmsford, Essex. For 100kg+ orders in Essex, Cambridgeshire and East London we offer dedicated local delivery, and large volumes can be arranged direct from Ghana.
